| Permit Description: |
The purpose of this permit is to identify qualified participants in the commercial fishery for striped bass in New York state. Activities allowed under the permit include the possession of striped bass tags and gear legally permitted for use in the harvest and sale of striped bass. The permit and tag system is required to keep New York from exceeding the annual quota of striped bass granted under the provisions of the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission Management Plan for the species. A moratorium is currently in effect for this permit. Taking striped bass for commercial purposes from the Hudson River is prohibited. |
